uMgungundlovu Film Festival will be held in KwaZulu - Natal, Pietermaritzburg from the 25th to the 28th of November 2022.

uMgungundlovu Film Festival is a festival that will cater for all ages. The festival seeks to inspire and support aspirant filmmakers in particular women and the youth from uMgungundlovu region and surroundings.

The festival is created to provide a creative film exhibition platform for aspirant and entry level filmmakers, to address the current challenge of bringing women into the film industry and to give filmmakers access to film industry information and career opportunities that are available in the industry. The festival will provide an opportunity to grow KwaZulu-Natal audiences and this will also encourage the consumption of local content.
